Body Shop Employee of the Month: Monica Witkowski
When customer’s enter our body shop, the first face they see probably belongs to Monica Witkowski. Monica is one of our lovely receptionists who works with customers or anybody else conducting business with the shop. For the month of February, Monica was chosen by her peers as the Service Advisors/Front Lobby Employee of the Month. Monica has been with us for over a year now and is a wonderful asset to the Car Crafters’ team. As customers enter the shop through our front doors, Monica is the receptionist sitting to the left. Monica always has a smile on her face and does her best to take care of customers and their cars. Keep up the good work Monica!

Body Shop Employees of the Month
To start off the year 2013, Car Crafters has implemented an employee of the month competition here inside the body shop. This month, there were two winners, each in different categories.
Paul Flynn won the honor for the “Service Advisers and Front Office.” Paul is one of our service advisers who meets directly with customers while their car is in our body shop. Even though Paul has been working for us for less than a year, he has already proven to be a great asset to our body shop. Paul is very friendly and has been descried by customers as “that really funny guy.”
In the “Body Techs and Mechanics” category, Steve Nieto took home the honors. Steve is one of our body techs who helps carry on our body shop’s tradition of delivering the best repairs. Steve has also only been with us for less than a year but has already had a huge impact on the shop.
The employees of the month are chosen by their peers and has no influence from management. Employees submit nomination forms of who they think has been working hard and representing the shop well. The people with the most votes for each category for that month win. Congratulations to Paul and Steve for being the first winners! Employees like them make our body shop stand out above the rest.
Body Shop Update: Car Crafters Sponsors Supernationals Car Show
Each year, our body shop sponsors the Super Nationals car show. Being a body shop, we like to support local car shows because we appreciate beautiful cars. Super Nationals is the biggest car show in town and is always a blast for car enthusiasts, families, or anybody else looking for something exciting to do on the weekend. This year’s Super Nationals is on February 1, 2 and 3 at Expo New Mexico. We have some exciting news for this year’s show. Al Unser Sr. and Al Unser Jr. will be doing a “meet and greet” signing at our booth. The Unser’s are racing legends, both of whom have won the Indianapolis 500. The Unser’s will be signing from 1PM-3PM on Saturday Feb. 2 and Sunday Feb. 3. Make sure and stop by to see us and the Unsers. They will have their Marlboro car that Al Jr. won his second Indy 500 in at our booth. We will also have our brand new Mustang Drift car that we built right here in the body shop. The Mustang has an awesome paint job and has over 1,000 Horsepower. Like always, we will have giveaways and goodies for all the people who come out and see us. Make sure and come by the Super Nationals this weekend and see all the cool cars and the coolest body shop in town!

The Auto Repair Process: Morning Meetings
The auto repair process requires many different people coming together to ensure a quality repair. Whether it’s the service advisors, technicians, painters, mechanics, or the buffers and cleaners, there has to be coordination throughout the entire repair. Every morning, the entire shop gets together for the “morning meeting.” At the morning meeting, everyone goes over the jobs and responsibilities they have for that day. Led by our general manager, Kevin Weldon, everybody takes turns letting people know where they are at on their jobs. These meetings help us deliver cars efficiently and effectively throughout the week. They are crucial to a shop who delivers between 450-500 cars in a month. The morning meetings are a crucial part of our operations and help us keep a fast and efficient cycle time for auto repair.
